Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and we asked our tribe in the Surviving Motherhood group what would make February 14th special to them. As a disclaimer, we know this is a very silly holiday, but it’s always fun to have an excuse to shower those nearest and dearest to us with a little extra love.
We had a couple of mamas agree with community member, Jessica McKee that indulging in chocolate covered strawberries would be the perfect gift. If you’re feeling ambitious we found this great recipe, but if you’re more like me, and local, we recommend Hilliards for all of your chocolate needs.
Other community members like Amanda said she is hoping for bath bombs, her go-to is anything vanilla scented. Etsy is loaded with lots of fun options for bath bombs. We heard several members loud and clear when they said they wanted to either relax, take a nap, or go for a date night. Laurie said she was looking forward to her Dirt Devil cordless vacuum (we hope her gift includes someone else using it ).
I think it’s important to add that if don’t have a significant other, or if your significant other doesn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day then make sure YOU treat yourself. If you want those pink roses, buy ’em and know that you’re worth it. If you want a giant chocolate heart, scoop it up and eat it up. The one and only RuPaul said it best: “If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else?”
