Recipes Valentine's Day

Galentine’s Day Cocktails + Mocktails

Valentine’s Day is one of those holidays, either you love it or you hate it – am I right? Personally, I love it. I think a lot of us moms with littles love it, not for flowers and chocolate for ourselves, but for the fun and excitement it brings the kiddos. I mean, I can’t remember the last time I got flowers and chocolate anyway 😂

Today I had intended to share some Valentine’s Day drink recipes for you + your honey after the kids go to bed, buuuuut my common sense reeled me in. Instead, I thought what better way to remind you to take some time for yourself than to give you an excuse to see your best gals? Galentine’s Day is a thing, ladies!

Maybe the day itself (Tuesday, 2/13) won’t work for you, but it’s a great excuse to get together with your mom friends and reclaim your sanity. So, if you can’t plan a mid-morning playdate then make it a point to get something on your calendar this month! I’ve crafted a few cocktails and mocktails for your Galentine’s Day get together and I think you’ll find at least one you love!

Cranberry Lemonade Mocktail

For this mocktail, mix 2 parts cranberry lemonade 1 part sprite (or sparkling water to decrease the sweetness). I used this local juice, if you can’t find cranberry lemonade you can also use cranberry juice and lemonade by combining the two. Garnish with a fresh lemon and serve!

note: this can easily be turned into a cocktail by adding flavored vodka, or using wine to turn it into a spritzer.

Prosecco Punch

This is a super easy one, you can drink anytime of day (just me?!). Grab your favorite bottle of prosecco, pour a glass, add a splash of juice and garnish with fresh fruit. Ours has a splash of cranberry and is garnished with fresh raspberries, but you can mix it up with your favorite flavors!

Wine Spritzer

Another easily customizable beverage you can pair with your favorites. Ours included 2 parts Sauvignon Blanc, 1 part San Pellegrino Limonata and was garnished with fresh strawberries. You could replace the San Pellegrino with sprite, or swap out the wine for a different type. Experiment, but more importantly, enjoy!

note: skip the wine and add even more fresh fruit to make this a prego-friendly mocktail!

Sparkling Red

This isn’t a recipe but it is something I wanted to share because sparkling red is my new favorite wine! I’ve been crushing on Banfi Rosa Regale since Thanksgiving ’17, and I thought it would be perfect for Valentine’s Day! If you haven’t tried this and you prefer sweet wine, you must!
